Hatshepsut. Women, society and academia
Posted October 8th, 2007
This website is named after the ancient Egyptian queen, Hatshepsut, one of the earliest and the greatest female ruler of Egypt. Hatshepsut as a name means “the most distinguished of women” and that is what this website aims at — to pay tribute to the many distinguished women that appeared through out the different periods of Egypt’s history in particular and the Arab-Muslim region in general. The website is published by Eman Shaban Morsi, teaching assistant at the English Department, Cairo University, researcher and freelance journalist.
